Data intelligence

Business intelligence, built in layers

Every business analysis, whether verification, credit review, or market research, starts with the same question: who is this company, really? The answer builds in layers, and each layer fills in what the one before it cannot.

The layers
Layer 1

Secretary of State records

The foundation. The company, its officers, and its path from formation through mergers and dissolution.

SoS Data →
Layer 2

Ownership information

Who stands behind the entity. Once the company is established, ownership research shows who actually owns and controls it. Disclosure varies by source.

UBO Data →
Layer 3

Collateralized UCC Intelligence

The financing picture. Signals of financial standing: which lenders have extended secured credit, what collateral secures it, and how the filing history has developed.

Layer 4

Judgments and liens

Further obligations visible in the public record.

Layer 5

TIN/EIN

Whether the tax identity matches the business.

EIN Data →
Layer 6

Nonprofit and firmographic data

The context around the entity.

Non-Profit Data →Firmographic Data →
Layer 7

Emissions data

A newer lens on the entity. Where a facility reports to the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, its reported emissions add environmental context to the evaluation.

Availability and permitted use are confirmed per engagement. Australia and New Zealand business data is scoped the same way. Canadian registry coverage is in development.
UCC filings are research signals. They do not independently establish a completed purchase, current loan balance, or present asset ownership. Repayment performance is reported separately by the credit bureaus.
Emissions data reflects EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program filings, which cover large emitting facilities, suppliers of fossil fuels and industrial gases, and facilities that inject carbon dioxide underground. Companies below the program’s thresholds will not appear.
International & firmographic

Understand the entity. Put the business in context.

Business decisions require more than a company name. K&A helps organizations evaluate registry records, business identifiers, and firmographic information to support verification, market analysis, and commercial decision-making.

Canadian Business Registries — In Development

K&A is developing Canadian registry coverage to support business identity research and cross-border intelligence. The program is focused on legal entity information, registration identifiers, status, addresses, and available filing details across provincial and territorial sources.

Jurisdiction availability, accessible fields, historical depth, and delivery requirements are confirmed during scoping.

Australia & New Zealand Business Data

Business information connecting company names and available ABN, ACN, and NZBN identifiers with address, telephone, and descriptive business information. These records support entity matching, database enrichment, market segmentation, and research across Australia and New Zealand.

Representative samples and field-level completeness reviews help establish suitability for each intended use.

Firmographic Data & Business Profiles

A practical foundation for understanding who a business is, where it operates, and how it fits your target market. K&A scopes firmographic requirements around available business identity, location, classification, and descriptive attributes.

Coverage and completeness are evaluated at the field level. Reported information, derived attributes, and unavailable fields are distinguished so your team can assess the data with confidence.

The K&A data difference

Direct. Real-time. Complete.

Source-direct information, updates in step with source publication, and record detail that supports practical business decisions.

No third party

Records are collected from originating agencies and registries, rather than purchased through a reseller chain. Clear provenance and filing identifiers help connect delivered data to the underlying official record.

No lag

Collection follows the publishing cycle of each authority. Filing, release and collection dates are distinguished where available, so currency can be evaluated accurately.

Full coverage

Scope the parties, addresses, filing attributes, status information and related history your analysis requires. UCC descriptions add collateral context beyond the filing header.
